Bludigit and Gruppo CAP Join Forces: Strategic Agreement for the Digitalization of Water and Gas Services

15 July 2024

A new synergy is taking shape to accelerate the digital transformation of water and gas networks.
Bludigit and Gruppo CAP — the green utility managing the integrated water service of the Metropolitan City of Milan — have signed a memorandum of understanding to establish a structured collaboration in the fields of technology, innovation, and artificial intelligence.

The shared goal is clear: to connect expertise and know-how in order to build a new, advanced, interconnected, and sustainable model for network management.

A Shared Vision to Innovate the Networks of the Future

This collaboration stems from the desire to develop joint initiatives aimed at improving the efficiency, sustainability, and resilience of water and gas infrastructures through a digital and data-driven approach.

Key areas of cooperation outlined in the agreement include:

  • Development of joint projects between the water and gas sectors, leveraging the expertise of Italgas Group through its subsidiary Nepta
  • Adoption of digital technologies and smart tools for network monitoring and management
  • Promotion of technological innovation to enhance public services
  • Expansion of innovative services for water utilities, both in Italy and internationally

This strategic agreement also aims to enhance vertical solutions developed by both companies in key areas such as operational efficiency, asset mapping, and network monitoring — all to improve the quality and responsiveness of services provided.

Alliances That Create Value for the Water Sector

The value of the collaboration between Bludigit and Gruppo CAP was emphasized by Marco Barra Caracciolo, President and CEO of Bludigit, who highlighted the importance of knowledge sharing to accelerate digital transformation.

Michele Tessera, CIO of Gruppo CAP, also reaffirmed the strategic role of digital technologies in increasing the efficiency of network infrastructures, ultimately improving service quality for both citizens and ecosystems.

This is not the first collaboration between Bludigit and Gruppo CAP. Alongside MM and Acquedotto Pugliese, they are already part of the “Gruppo Acqua” within the Digital Sustainability Foundation, established to promote investments in digital technologies that support the water service sector.

With this new agreement, Bludigit strengthens its commitment to developing high-impact technological partnerships that drive innovation in the water sector and support the sustainable transformation of public infrastructures.
