As the digital company of the Italgas Group, Bludigit plays an active role in this partnership, building on its ongoing collaboration with Azerigas, the national gas distribution operator in Azerbaijan. <\/p>\n\n<p>Among the technologies deployed by Bludigit, <strong>CRDS (Cavity Ring-Down Spectroscopy<\/strong>) from <strong>Picarro<\/strong> is proving to be a game-changing tool for the <strong>accurate and timely detection of even the smallest gas leaks<\/strong>. Already operational in Baku, this solution is critical to enhancing infrastructure safety and efficiency, while significantly reducing fugitive methane emissions. <\/p>\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Infrastructure as a Catalyst for Sustainability<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n<p>A highlight of the conference was the event hosted by Italgas on 15 November at the Italian Pavilion \u2013 Blue Zone at COP29, titled:<\/p>\n\n<p><strong>\u201cMethane Emissions in the Global Path to Net Zero: Infrastructure as a Catalyst for Sustainable Gas Trade.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n<p>The session gathered high-level representatives from across the globe \u2014 including governments, think tanks, NGOs, and energy companies \u2014 to discuss the essential role of infrastructure in <strong>mitigating methane emissions<\/strong>, one of the most potent greenhouse gases.<\/p>\n\n<p>Notable speakers included:<\/p>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Pier Lorenzo Dell\u2019Orco<\/strong>, CEO of Italgas Reti, who presented the Group\u2019s transformation into a network tech company and its commitment to <strong>decarbonization<\/strong> through digital innovation<br\/><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Professor Francesco Corvaro<\/strong>, Special Climate Envoy of the Italian Government, who emphasized Italy\u2019s strategic role in the green transition<br\/><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Contributions also came from representatives of <strong>Tokyo Gas, Marubeni, Azerigas, the World Bank, the Italian Biogas Consortium<\/strong>, and international organizations such as <strong>Clean Air Task Force, Environmental Defense Fund, and the Atlantic Council<\/strong><br\/><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>A Strategic Partnership for a Net-Zero Future<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n<p>The agreement with SOCAR \u2014 enabled in part by the operational synergy between Bludigit and Azerigas \u2014 marks a turning point in accelerating the digital and environmental transformation of gas networks on a global scale.<br\/>Best practice sharing, advanced technology adoption, and an agile methodological approach are the levers to building smarter, safer, and more sustainable infrastructures.<br\/>As Paolo Gallo, CEO of Italgas, stated: <\/p>\n\n<p><em>\u201cWe are excited to begin this partnership with SOCAR, which, like us, sees technological innovation and sustainability as key pillars of growth.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n<p>SOCAR also emphasized the strategic importance of the collaboration:<\/p>\n\n<p><em>\u201cBy enhancing our leak detection capabilities and increasing digitalization, we not only optimize efficiency, but also make a meaningful contribution to emission reductions across the entire network.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n<p><strong>As the digital enabler of the Italgas Group, Bludigit reaffirms its mission: to drive practical solutions that tackle the climate crisis by putting innovation at the service of the global energy transition.<\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Bludigit at the Forefront of COP29 Alongside Italgas and SOCAR for the Energy Transition The 29th United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP29), held in Baku, Azerbaijan, marked a strategic milestone for Bludigit, strengthening its position in the global landscape of sustainable energy innovation.
